Transcript of lines:

Avad: The monument's really coming along. Carja Citizen: Indeed. The sculptor has once again requested a number of embellishments: a gold headdress to catch the light of the sun... Greenshine for the eyes, and a life-size deathbringer for the base. Avad: That won't be necessary. It should be modest but formidable, like the woman it honors. Carja Citizen: Yes, your Radiance.

Carja Citizen: The Shah Taveer and Kho Veriv families have made generous donations to the Alight's reconstruction. Avad: Ah, of course. Buying their way back into the light of the Sun after their support of the Shadow Carja. (He's so done lol) Please arrange for a luncheon at the palace, so that the Crown may show its gratitude. Carja Citizen: Consider it done, your Luminance.

Oh. My. Gods…

I was just thinking about the Red Raids and my mind went to the ages of Erend, Ersa, and Avad.

So, when we meet Erend in Mother’s Heart before the Proving, we are told abt the Raids. He also says that he can’t remember life before the Red Raids. Erend’s age is unspecified but we do know that he’s in his early to mid 20s. When we first meet him, he seems to be around 22-23ish. We learn that the Raids had ended 2 years prior and they lasted for about 12 years. So, by the end of the Raids, he’s about 20-21ish. Take 12 years away from that and that must put Erend at around 8-9 years old when the Red Raids first started, this explains his inability to remember his life, due to not remembering things as a child. And the wiki page tells us that Avad starts to rally the Oseram about a decade into the Raids which would make Erend about 18-19 when he became a Freebooter.

Fuck, he was really young when the Red Raids started.

Now, what about Ersa and Avad.

Well, the two are said to be around the same age from what I’ve read. Avad is said to be no older than his late 20s, I’d say that he’s around 28-29 when we meet him in Zero Dawn. I think Ersa is about a year-ish younger than him so I’d say about 27-28 give or take. That would make Avad around 26-27 when he took up the crown and Ersa would be 25-26 at the end of the Raids. Going by the same theory of the 12 year Red Raids, Avad would be about 14-15 when the Raids started, with Ersa being 13-14. And again, a decade into the Raids, Avad rallied the Freebooters when he was around 24-25. This would make Ersa about 23-24 when she took up arms alongside Avad and her brother.

Good Gods… They were so young when Jiran started his horrible plans.

They deserve so much better man.

Anyways, this makes me want to cry, this wasn’t even that much of a lore deep dive. What the fuck man.

Summary for the accompanying story Close to the Sun:

After the fight against the Zeniths, Kotallo follows Sun-King Avad’s invitation to travel to Meiridan and attend a second embassy. The events take a dark turn, when Kotallo and Avad find themselves in the midst of another coup attempt.

Thinking abt Avad and how he has to put on this stupid kingly persona at all times when really he's probably just a regular silly guy who wants to hang out w his friends and be himself and now he has to do all this shitty royal paperwork and be seen as some untouchable saint all the time ooohh mygod im getting you out of there babygirl just you wait !!!!

I need an evil Aloy. An Aloy that rages and leads an army of machines to lay siege to the Nora, to punish the people who shunned her just for being born from metal. Maybe she would have ended up like this if Rost died earlier? Maybe from something avoidable if he had only gotten help from the Nora, but they denied him, and Aloy when she asked for help? And she had to finish growing up shunned and alone, with only machines and the wild for company. And as the years pass by, her bitterness and rage grew, so much so, that when she's strong enough, and she figures out how to control machines, she begins her march towards Mother's Heart, and she actually runs into the Shadow Carja and she gets rid of them, not to save the Nora, but because she won't have her revenge taken from her. But the Nora see it as Aloy coming to save them, and they begin to praise her as their Savior, but they quickly realize that Aloy is actually worse than the Shadow Carja could ever be.

And after the Nora are no more, as the fires burn, she finds absolution and turns the Sacred Lands into her own metaldom. Where she rules the machines with an iron fist. The Carja and Oseram learn of what had happened and are extremely wary of Aloy and her machines, but they also know that they aren't a match for her and instead send the convoy to negotiate, trying to lay down the bones for an alliance. And Aloy warily agrees, because her wrath was aimed at the Nora, these new peoples haven't wronged her. Yet, at least. So she gives them a chance and maybe the rest of the game happens, but with Aloy travelling with an army of machines and people interacting with her with more fear and awe than before. And any mocking or insults are counteracted with physical punishment rather than Aloy verbally bashing them as she typically does.

I just want a fierce, determined Aloy that isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and that takes her rightful vengeance against the Nora. 😤
